NEWSGROUP DOWNLOAD LIMITS
So many options for the Usenet user
Download limits effectively "limit" the amount of postings
you can retrieve from a newsserver. Newsgroup service providers
usually offer access to their servers via any number of service
plans. The 3 most common are "daily", "monthly"
(also known as "block"), and "unlimited".
Let's go through each type now:
DAILY - usually the most inexpensive way to get started, you're
allotted x amount of bandwidth to download (usually measured in
gigabytes) before you're denied access to the newsserver; usually
until midnight (local time to the server location) where it then
resets and you can start downloading again. If you're not sure how
much download load you need per day, this is a good option to go
with at first.
MONTHLY - a great option for those users who have daily varying
needs and don't log into Usenet day in and day out. With this "block"
plan you'll be allotted x amount of gigabytes that you can use during
any 30 day period; you could use it all up in 1 day, every other
day, or over the course of the entire month -- it's up to you.
UNLIMITED - the newest option offered by Usenet providers, these
are the most expensive way to get connected. But if you love *binaries
newsgroups this might be the plan for you.
